8/9/10th test flights

On the 7th flight, I continued to see high CHT’s this time #2, so I thought I might have a fuel distribution problem.  I took all the injectors out and cleaned them, then switched them around until I measured equal fuel flow thru all cylinders (injectors out of the cylinders and attached to the lines spraying into graduated measuring tubes, fuel pump on for a few seconds with mixture at various settings, compared volumes).

Today, all flights showed a hot #3 cylinder, but really only on climb out. Once I leveled off, they all seemed to be ok and under 400C.  But, #3 went to 420F on climb out requiring me to pull back power severely to cool it off.  Once I got it cooled off it seemed to be ok unless I  climbed aggressively again.  I’m going to play with the placement of the VG’s on the NACA and see if that helps.  Also, I’m going to check the air intakes to make sure they’re all tight.

I put in about 2.5hrs today in a few flights.  I flew to and landed at KORE today – first time I landed (and took off from) an airport other than KORH!  Kinda cool.  Had a Cozy pilot as well as the local A&P come over for a look.  The Cozy pilot suffers from the same anemic take offs as I do as he’s got an extreme cruise prop.

Here’s the CloudAhoy logs for today’s flights:
