This morning was my appointment with an inspector from the Windsor-Locks FAA MIDO (Manufacturing & Inspection District Offices) for my airworthiness inspection. I thought it was the FSDO that took care of airworthiness inspections, but its the MIDO. Anyway, great guy, very thorough. He spotted a few things that I was able to correct while he was there. The whole process took about 3hrs. He granted me the flight area I requested – a quadrilateral described by KORH (Worcester – home base), 7B2 (Northhampton), 0B5(Turners Falls) and GDM (Gardner). That box is ~33nm x 16nm – should give enough space to wind it up.
A few more high speed taxi’s and I’ll be ready for first flight…
