I can not find any section of the build manual that deals with installation of the trim that runs along the forward door pillar and joins with the overhead switch panel. After some discussion on the Velocity forum, some builders see this as a structural part that must be reinforced with UNI or TRIX then installed with 2 layers of BID while others have viewed it as trim and have upholstered it then used screws to attach it allowing easy access to wiring that runs behind it. I suspect the previous builder of my plane had the latter in mind as he added a couple layers of TRIAX (~2″ strips) to reinforce the front door pillar, perhaps anticipating mounting the trim with screws.
