Seat mounting

I lined up and drilled out holes for the front seat rails.  I also sanded them down and gave them a coat of silver paint – I used that “hammered-look” paint which I’ve always found to be both attractive and durable.  The front seat cushions were then lifted so I could bolt the rails onto the bottom of the seats.  Once I got the seats mounted I tried the pilot’s seat on for size.  I felt pretty comfortable.  I have the seat in more of a reclining position and I may change that, but one of my biggest concerns at 6’4″ and 220lb, I thought I may always feel cramped, but I have plenty of leg room and head room.  With the large strake cutouts in the doors, I should have lots of elbow room.  I’m not sure if I will be able to fit both my 6’4″ boys in the back seats, tho.  With my seat all the way back, there’s not a whole lot of passenger leg room left.

I also finished off mounting the rear seat supports onto the seat bottoms and glassed in the rear seat mount hard points in the floor.
