This package shelf is turning out to be a lot more work than I thought. I’m turning the corner on it now. I micro’ed in aluminum angle brackets onto the fuselage sides to hold the upright shelf portion in place. I finished the base by adding aluminum brackets to support the upright portion. I will use threaded fasteners to attach the package shelf assembly to the base and fuselage. The one final job on this is to make some supports for the base that go from the whale tail to the bulkhead. I fabricated those today but need to glass them in place. Then, the package shelf can be upholstered. I’m out of BID, tho, and need to wait for my ACS order before I can continue.
So, I switched to mounting the rear seats. I fabricated the rear seats support out of 1″ foam with a layer of TRIAX on each side. After quite a bit of sanding and finessing, I have them shaped right and need to glass them to the seats – out of BID again, tho! Wait until the weekend for the ACS order. Lots of other things to do, tho. Tomorrow I will work on the fuel system plumbing. My last ACS order came in with all the Al tubing and AN fittings I needed, so that shouldn’t take long. I also got a gallon of 5606 hydraulic fluid from my local FBO, so I can get my RG system working as well.
