This is one of those jobs that I had been procrastinating for a long time, thinking it was going to be difficult. It turned out to be very easy, though. I was struggling a bit trying to think how to orient the fuel shut-off valve to enable remote cable control. Mounting it on an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the plane worked very well. I used an angle bracket and adel clamp to hold the cable on the fuel-valve end. The cable is also secured about 6″ back from this against the firewall with another adel clamp. To ensure that the cable doesn’t slip in this clamp, I drilled out two short pieces of 3/8″ Al dowel so they slipped over the cable then crimped them in place on either side of the adel clamp. I mounted the control knob end of the cable right along the pilot door forward pillar. The longest stock control cable that ACS sells is 120″ and it was a perfect length.
