The previous builder had assembled the control stick with the Strong Pitch Trim system. Generally, I liked the system, but there was quite a bit of slop in it, so I disassembled the system entirely and rebuilt it. I sent the Strong Pitch Trim system back to Alex Strong to be checked out as I’d heard there was an fix that needed to be applied – he had it back to me within a week, all fixed and checked out. The mechanism that the previous builder had used to attach the aft end of the pitch trim introduced some slop, so I fashioned a different system with proper bushings. Also, where the control stick engaged with the pitch push rod, no bushing had been used, so I reamed it out and press-fit a brass bushing. These modifications tightened up the system nicely.
