My canard had been built as one unit, with a non-removable cover. Knowing that I will likely need to mount avionics and such there, I cut it off and made it removable. Pretty straightforward modification. Just made a nice straight cut on both sides. Sealed off all the exposed foam ends. And a couple layers of TRIAX to make a flange. I have to drill some countersunk holes and mount nut plates in the flanges yet. I also noticed when I mounted the canard on the fuselage that it was a bit high, so I needed to add a little micro to bring the fuselage up to meet it.
