I’m not sure how to finish the main gear legs. While its common to use plastic brake lines and just micro over them to attach them to the gear legs, the previous builder fitted my plane with braided steel lines. Better performance/durability, but I need to figure out how to deal with them. Currently, the lines are fastened to the gear legs with zip-ties. A little loop of fiberglass was created for each zip-tie to run through. I’m not sure if this was done just to temporarily hold them, or if this is a suitable method of holding the lines in flight. Drag is not a huge deal on retract gear, but it looks a little flimsy. I’d like to create more of a pocket for the lines to fit into.
